In response to recent legislation (SB 24-069), the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Office of Special Education will begin development of a training program for parents of students with disabilities that includes easy to understand explanations of federal and state laws and procedures related to individualized education programs. The goal of this training is to clarify information about the IEP process through a publicly available training program.

Who can be part of this project?
Spanish-speaking parents of children in 3rd-5th grade who could receive school support services, have signs of autism (ASD) or ADHD, and are on grade level in school, may be able to participate.
Understanding children's mental health is essential as it establishes a critical foundation for their emotional, social, and cognitive development, influencing their ability to navigate relationships and challenges throughout life.
