Partners in Housing is a one-year transitional housing program for families with children who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.
. The program requires that each adult fill out an application (including partners or spouses). All adults must submit a valid Driver’s License or State ID with their application. Each adult is required to work 40 hours, and that can include working and going to school. Each adult is also required to attend mandatory classes once a month, these include credit counseling, budget counseling and life skills. Once in the program, a caseworker is assigned to the family to assist with the requirements. The resource is based out of Colorado Springs but serves residents in Colorado, and families who are at risk of being homeless or homeless and flexible with moving to the springs or surrounding area may find this as a good option. The program aims to create self-sufficiency for families.
Partners in Housing is not a permanent or immediate housing program. The application process itself can take anywhere from 3-4 weeks. The waitlist for housing varies it can be anywhere from 4 – 6 months. It depends on the size of the family and what units are available.
